What is Pottery Techniques and Development of Ideas about?

In this course you will have the opportunity to explore a variety of pottery making methods, from throwing on the wheel to hand-building, and surface decoration secrets from inlays to glazing.
you will also learn to:
- Create any item or shape that is possible to be made from clay.
- Learn how an idea can be developed into a ceramic-ware.

- Work with various methods, such as slip-casting, throwing on the wheel, slab-work, pinch and coil potting.
- Every item made from clay needs to be dried over several days and fired in the kiln to harden, ready for glazing.
- After you glazed your work, it will be glaze fired and ready for collection on your next session.
- Weather permiting, you can Raku your bisque-fired pieces and see immediate, dazzling results in a traditional outdoor Raku Glaze Firing process.
How the course is organised?
Each session is 2 hour long from start to finish. One can attend as little as one session or enroll for 4 sessions.
The cost is including use of 2kg of clay of your choice and glazes, one bisque and one glaze firing. Should you wish to use more material, there will be a small additional charge for the clay and glazes.
This course can be taken as a one to one or in a group setting.
The number of attendees are kept to maximum 2 -3 people per class to assure their individual learning goals are met.
Venue & time
The course runs at Earthbeat Studio (West London) on weekly bases (no minimum attendance) on Tuesdays 12.00pm to 2.00pm or 6.00 pm - 8.00 pm
