For decades, Shiatsu has been the best kept secret of many and an enlightening life-path to a few, for achieving and maintaining wellbeing.
Shiatsu as a healing-touch modality, has been shaped and reshaped on its journey to the West, unjustifiably presented as a kind of a massage or introduced to the public as Shiatsu Massager gadgets.
The main objective of this group is to clarify and demystify Shiatsu; also to make a distinction between Shiatsu and other hands-on healing systems while equipping you with enough information to be able to give simple, authentic Shiatsu to family and friends.
Who can benefit from this group?
The group welcomes seasoned practitioners to give and receive shiatsu as well as those with none or little knowledge of Shiatsu, wishing to explore this powerful yet gentle art of healing. Anyone interested with touch healing, energy work, personal development and self / others well-being may find this course extremely useful.
What the beginners can learn?
Here as a beginner you can learn simple yet effective shiatsu techniques of applying head, neck and shoulders shiatsu on yourself, to family and friends - through Qi projection methods, touch, manipulating special pressure points and meridians. Also receive or exchange treatments and practice your Shiatsu skills in combination with bodywork and movement therapy in a safe and friendly environment.
No course work is involved but a small amount of online research and reading is recommended to widen your scope of the subject.

Can shiatsu help loosing weight?
Become a regular and take part in this experiment. You will be practicing some effective stretches based on the meridianal system that governs our muscles, connective tissues and skeletal structure for re-shaping your body .
You will also learn to activate acupressure points which can diminish your food cravings, eating dilemmas and control your appetite while implementing techniques for relieving stress and increasing your stamina,: a crucial factor when on a weight loss program.
How the sessions are organised?
One can join the group as little as once a month -see the available dates- or more frequently if booking for 4 sessions in a row.
Will the progress be assessed?
The progress is continually assessed through self-evaluation, observation and feedback- during and at the end of each session. But the real progress will be evident from the changes that you would notice in your own wellbeing!
What options are there at the end of the course?
One can continue the course as a means of practice for bettering their Shiatsu techniques and deepening their understanding of the subject. An certificate of attendance can be issued upon request .
