Self-Shiatsu Course: An introduction to Shiatsu

The course compares Shiatsu with other hands on/off healing modalities. The oriental Law of 5 Elements, one of the most complete models of energy interactions, will be covered in full details.This is a self-contained map for studying the endocrine system, emotions, energetic vibrations of the internal organs, even the living space (Feng Shui) and life on this planet. This course will open up a completely new perspective for you to understand your body as much as your environment and relationships.
Who is the course for?
The course is suitable for those who have none or little knowledge of Shiatsu, interested in exploring this powerful yet gentle art of healing through touch and Qi projection methods, also those wishing to take their learning on a professional practitioner level.
What dose the course cover?
The students will learn about basic shiatsu techniques and meridians network, various pressure points, theory of The 5 Elements and an introduction to Hara diagnoses, in combination with different methods of energy projection including Reiki.
What would one achieve at the end of the course?
At the end of the course the students will have gained the necessary basic knowledge of shiatsu, as well as confidence and competence for applying Shiatsu to family and friends.
How is the course organised?
The course runs on modular bases as a 6 or 12 week program of 2 ½ hour session per week. The students can start at any time and continue as far as they plan to.
What extra study or practice is expected outside the class?
It is recommended that the students practice the routines as regularly as possible and show commitment in learning by participation and questioning. A minimum of 1 hour weekly practice and extra time for completing a personal progress journal and 5 case studies is expected.
How the progress will be assessed?
The progress is continually assessed for practical as well as the Shiatsu theory. The assessments will be carried out through self-evaluation forms, personal progress journal and observation- verified by the course tutor, during and at the end of each session.
What options are there after finishing the course?
There are several options: Either, one can continue on an intermediate level by taking up the 12 weeks course, or continue on a- 1 to 1 Master-class level as a means of practice and deepening their understanding of the subject. One can also, upon the successful completion of 90 hours course, apply for further training with one of the recomended Shiatsu schools in London.
